Introduction. One of the most serious and important aspects in modern geriatrics is the frailty syndrome which is the result of the accumulation of natural aging processes and comorbid state at this point. The study of its impact on the quality of life of elderly people suffering from chronic heart failure will increase awareness of specialists in the campaigns to the therapy of this condition. Material and methods. A study was conducted which involved 51 patients, whose average age was 70±4.2 years. During the study, all patients were assessed senile fragility using SHARE and senile asthenia index. Quality of life of the patients was evaluated using a non-specific questionnaire "SF-36 Health Status Survey". Statistical validity was determined using the Mann-Whitney U-test. The analysis was carried out using spreadsheets Microsoft©Excel 2010 and STATISTICA 10.0 (Statsoft©). Results and discussion. Parallel application of SHARE and ISA indices showed their different sensitivity in determining senile fragility. When using SHARE turned distribution: 62,7% (n=32) identified senile frailty, in 21.6% (n=11) – pre-frailty and 15.7% (n=8) without frailty. According to ISA, 15.7% (n=8) of patients suffered from senile frailty, the proportion of patients with pre-frailty was 68.6% (35 people), patients with the norm – 15.7% (n=8). In the course of the study, data were obtained indicating that the presence of senile fragility, as well as the functional class of chronic heart failure, affect the physical component of the quality of life, without affecting its psychological component. Conclusion. The SHARE index presented high validity in determining senile frailty in patients with chronic heart failure.
