he article presents the results of the risk factors influence studies on the prevalence of overweight and obesity of educational institutions employees in Tatarstan Republic. The purpose of the research is to identify factors of risk among scientific and teaching emploees that affect the prevalence of overweight and obesity in modern conditions. Materials and methods - the study was developed on the basis of the Kazan Health Centers. Statistical processing was carried out using logical, comparative analytical, retrospective, statistical methods. The results of the study - a total number of examined people was 200 including 49 men and 151 women from 23 to 59 years old where their average age was about 43 years. The body mass index (BMI) in the studied group ranged from 17.31 to 44.58 kg / m2, on average - 27.47 ± 5.04 kg / m2. Conclusion - according to the study, the most common statistically significant risk factors were found to be older age, work in a sitting position, bad habits, irregular nutrition, insufficient sleep duration, lack of systematic physical training. Based on the obtained results, it is necessary to focus efforts on lifestyle changes and do not consider obesity as a problem of the health care system, but a task of a certain person
