Summary:
Introduction. One of the main objectives of health care is to reduce mortality. Correct comparative analysis of mortality in different territories can be carried out only on the basis of standardized mortality indicators. The aim of the study was a comparative analysis of standardized indicators of mortality in the main classes of causes of death in the Krasnoyarsk region, Russia and Europe. Material and methods. The study used data on registered deaths for the period from 1999 to 2017 in the Krasnoyarsk region, as well as standardized mortality rates in Russia and Europe. The European standard of the age structure of the population was used to calculate the standardized mortality rates of the Krasnoyarsk region. The paper analyzes the dynamics of the overall standardized mortality rate, as well as standardized mortality rates from major natural causes of death. Results. As the results of the study, the dynamics of standardized indicators of mortality in Europe, Russia and Krasnoyarsk region from infectious and parasitic diseases, malignant neoplasms, diseases of the blood and hematopoietic organs, diseases of the endocrine system, eating disorders and metabolic disorders, mental disorders, diseases of the nervous system and sensory organs, diseases of the circulatory system, respiratory diseases, diseases of the digestive system) and diseases of the genitourinary system are presented. Discussion. Between 1999 and 2013, there was a decrease in the overall standardized mortality rate, both in Europe and in Russia and the Krasnoyarsk territory. The same trend was observed for most of the causes of death analyzed between 1999 and 2013. Conclusion. The study identified the most adverse causes of death in the Krasnoyarsk region in comparison with Europe, such as malignant neoplasms, respiratory diseases and diseases of the digestive system. Reducing mortality from these causes in the Krasnoyarsk region should be a key health task.
