Actuality. Ultrasound Department organization of the oncologic center has been insufficiently studied. There is no complete information about the factors affecting the performance of this unit, the criteria for predicting and planning its work in the literature. The purpose of this work is to identify statistically significant factors that determine the performance of the ultrasound departments of cancer center. Methods: correlative analysis of report form №30 of Voronezh, Lipetsk and Kursk cancer centers has been performed. Pearson correlation coefficient r has been used to interval scale and being normally distributed. Verification of the distribution law has been made using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Results. The work of the Ultrasound Department of oncological center depends on the bed fund, the staffing, equipment status of the clinic, on the indicators of detected malignant tumors and the number of patients standing on cancer records. Pearson's coefficient is +1, p=0.01. At the same time, the statistical analysis does not reveal the connection of diagnostic work of Ultrasound Department with the prevalence of cancer process (distribution by stages), with the population of the region. It can be stated that there are no links between the indicators of diagnostic activity of the Ultrasound Department and the indicators of the Radiology Department. Summary. Planning the work of the Ultrasound Department of cancer center does not need using account the population of the region and the performance of the Radiology Department. Significant factors are the incidence of malignant tumors, the number of registered patients in the region, the intensity of work equipment status and staffing of the cancer center.
