Introduction. Accessibility and quality of medical care to the population of Russia, in terms of the declared priorities of the state policy in the field of health protection, are directly related to the measures being implemented, the most important of which are the implementation of the National Health Care project. Purpose of the investigation. Analysis of the territorial availability of medical care to the rural population of the region in the areas of responsibility of inter-district centers, taking into account the number, location and population density. Materials and methods. The article uses analytical and statistical research methods. Results and discussion. Features affecting the territorial accessibility of medical care to the rural population were identified: the specifics of dispersal, which consist in a low population density, the presence of a large number of sparsely populated areas remote from medical organizations, in which mainly people over working age live, and the dependence of the possibility of receiving medical care on transport availability. Conclusion. Availability in Ryazan region of a large number of sparsely populated areas, with a low population density and significantly remote from medical organizations, with limited transport accessibility, negatively affects the availability of medical care to the rural population in the area of responsibility of the Inter-district centers.
