Introduction. The staffing of medical organizations with specialists largely determines the quality and timeliness of the provision of medical care to the population. The aim of the study was to establish the required number of plastic surgeons to provide medical care to patients on the profile of "plastic surgery". Material and research methods: to calculate the required number of plastic surgeons, we analyzed the forms of federal statistical observation No. 12, No. 7 and No. 30. Of the research methods used analytical, descriptive statistics, photo-timing observations. The results of the study. It is known that the bulk of plastic surgeons work in medical organizations that provide medical care in stationary conditions. It is shown that the need for medical care in the "plastic surgery" profile is especially relevant for injuries and oncological diseases. According to official statistics, every ninth resident of the country needs the help of plastic surgeons. Given the high number of people who need plastic surgery, it was necessary to establish the required number of plastic surgeons. In this regard, the average cost of working time of specialist doctors in the provision of specialized plastic surgical care was studied, and the number of specialist doctors was calculated taking into account the time spent on the provision of specialized plastic surgical care to one patient. Conclusion. The required number of plastic surgeons to provide aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery in the Russian Federation as a whole 2931 specialists.
