Introduction. In view of the significant increase in the incidence of type 2 diabetes, the lack of 100% recovery, the problem of diabetes remains relevant in today's time. Aim: to analyze the effectiveness of diabetes research (SD) in improving the quality of life in elderly patients suffering from type 2 diabetes. Materials and methods. A study was conducted in which 355 patients participated. The study included a survey on the level of motivation and interest in learning, methods of subjective, objective and laboratory research during the year after training in the SD. Results and discussion. When analyzing the results a year after graduation from the school, a significant decrease in body mass index (BMI), systolic (SAD) and diastolic blood pressure (dad) was revealed. 96.1% of all subjects reached the target level of HbA1c in blood plasma. Conclusion. There is a significant improvement in the quality of life, as well as clinical and laboratory indicators in older persons suffering from DM2, who attended classes in the SD.
