Summary:
Relevance. Russia has launched mechanisms for modernizing primary health care, which should improve the health of the population. At the same time, the adopted decisions are mainly aimed at carrying out infrastructural changes in the health system and do not address issues related to the need to improve the functions of medical services in connection with changes in the demographic structure, as well as the structure of morbidity, causes of death, and comorbidity of pathology. In this regard, it is of interest to study various strategies of integration processes in the primary health care sector that are currently being implemented in foreign countries. Purpose of research. A study of international data on the forms and models of integration in the provision of primary health care. Research result. Processes aimed at overcoming the fragmentation of medical care are actively underway in the health systems of foreign countries. At the same time, the organizational and economic mechanisms of integration are based not only on property rights (as in Russia), but also on agreements within the framework of contractual relations. In fact, a new organizational model is emerging - an integrated system for providing medical care. In this case, the integration directions are divided into two main types. The first is intra-industry (between individual medical organizations, health and social security services) and the second is between a medical organization (a social protection and support body) and a person. Conclusions. Integration processes in public health can be the key to successfully addressing many new challenges related to improving the organization of primary health care and upgrading its infrastructure.
Keywords integration in health care, integrated medical systems, primary health care, modernization of primary health care.
