The issue of improving the quality of medical care for the population according to the profile “Maxillofacial surgery” in the territory of the Russian Federation, provided to patients with pathology of the maxillofacial region, cannot be left without attention, because it is caused by a significant increase in the incidence of the population and the anatomical and physiological characteristics of this area. Purpose. Consider the organization structure of medical institutions providing medical care according to the profile of “Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery” as of 2019. Identify problems in the structure of the organization and determine ways to solve them. Materials and methods. The analysis of scientific papers published on this topic. Results. Organization of medical care in a hospital is one of the most important determinants of the quality of medical care for the population. To date, the system of medical care in the profile of “Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery” has several disadvantages. This article outlines a number of problems and provides ways to solve them. Conclusions. The lack of highly specialized institutions, a lack of specialists and insufficient material and technical equipment leads to untimely and poor-quality medical care. Organization of the Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery on the basis of a multidisciplinary medical organization will create optimal conditions for the treatment of patients with pathology of the maxillofacial region.
