Summary:
Asthma is one of the most common respiratory conditions having an increase in morbidity, a progressive flow, a high increase in disability, and great financial costs, and a decrease in the quality of life. The article demonstrates a clinical case of asthma with hypersensitivity to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), with a late debut. To verify the diagnosis of asthmawas performed, a complex of obligate and additional diagnostic methods, including taking an anamnesis, physical examination data, laboratory (including IgE in serum, allergenic household and epidermal antigens), instrumental (chest x-ray, sinus examination; spirometry with a breakdown with bronchodilators) methods.A result of the examination was found, intolerance to NSAIDs, chronic sinusitis (which it didn’t has adequate surgical treatment), reduced spirometry studies, negative results of allergy tests, the presence of severe exacerbations of asthma more than once a year, the use of inhaled glucocorticosteroids (IHC) with insufficient control of asthma. In most patients with AD, the target level of control is not achieved, which it demonstrates in our a clinical case.At the same time, the use was noted of inhaled corticosteroids and bronchodilators through a nebulizer, a positive dynamics of the patient's condition. The use of nebulizer therapy allowed to further reduce the dose of IHC, a significant positive stable effect appeared, which allows us to conclude that it’s advisable to prescribe them with starting basic therapy. We believe that if a patient with asthma is used IHC in combination with bronchodilators through a nebulizer, then high doses of IHC can be avoided, which reduces theprobability of side effects and their consequences, accelerates the relief of exacerbations, objectively improves the patient’s condition and quality of life, and reduces the number exacerbations and hospitalization of the patient.
Keywords asthma, hypersensitivity, nebulizers and vaporizers, spirometry.
