Introduction. The purpose of this study was to study the main features and trends of morbidity and mortality from pneumonia in the Krasnoyarsk region in 2014-2018. Material and methods. The study used data from the official statistics of the Krasnoyarsk regional medical information and analytical center, statistical reference books of the Federal state budgetary institution «Central research Institute for health organization and informatization» of the Ministry of health of the Russian Federation, and primary mortality databases for urban districts and municipal districts for 2014-2018. Results. During the 5-year period analyzed, the incidence of pneumonia in the Krasnoyarsk region was found to decrease to a lower level than in the Siberian Federal district and Russia as a whole. However, the decrease in the incidence of pneumonia in the Krasnoyarsk region is accompanied by an increase in mortality from this cause. The study established the features of the dynamics of the age structure of mortality and the structure of mortality from pneumonia at the place of death. Discussion. The results obtained in the course of the study indicate a continuing tense epidemiological situation for pneumonia in the Krasnoyarsk region. Despite the decrease in the incidence of pneumonia in the Krasnoyarsk region, the lower value of this indicator in 2018 than in the Russian Federation and the SFO, and the decrease in mortality from pneumonia in the period from 2014 to 2018. the levels of mortality indicators in the Krasnoyarsk region exceed similar indicators on average for the SFO and the Russian Federation. At the same time, since 2016, there has been an increase in mortality rates from pneumonia in the Krasnoyarsk region. Conclusions. The decrease in the incidence of pneumonia corresponds to an increase in the mortality rate, and the highest risk group is people over 60 years of age who die at home. The results obtained indicate the need for a detailed analysis of the monitoring system for patients with pneumonia, as well as the need to improve it to improve the level of medical care for this category of patients, reduce the mortality and mortality of the population from pneumonia.
