Nutritional screening and its methodology should become an integral part of the protocols for the clinical treatment of ZNO using chemotherapeutic /surgical/ radiological approaches. Insufficient food intake and decreased muscle protein are clearly correlated with mortality in ZNO, as well as with complications after tumor removal operations and dose-limiting toxicity during systemic antitumor therapy. The purpose of the study: to conduct a survey of specialist doctors who provide specialized care in the "Oncology" profile to find out the knowledge, skills and application of nutritional support for patients with malignant diseases. Materials and methods. In order to identify the need for nutritional support, a survey was conducted in medical institutions of the Federal subjects in the period from 2018 to 2019. The survey was attended by 252 specialist doctors who provide assistance in the "Oncology" profile from 12 regions. The original questionnaire, developed specifically for this study, was sent to specialists by email and the answers were posted on a specially created electronic platform. Research result. More than 30% of specialist doctors do not use or do not know anything about nutritional screening and its methods. Anthropometry research is used regularly by 50% of doctors, 37% at the time of admission, 6.5% when necessary and 6.5% of doctors never use or know about it. The method of bioimpedance is not owned or used by 54% of doctors, only 18.6% of doctors own and use it regularly, at the time of the first examination – 19.5% of doctors and as necessary – 10% .50% of the surveyed specialists never use dynamometry and 60% do not use the walking test, another 5.58% and 4.65%, respectively, do not know about the existence of these tests at all. 36% of specialists never use or know about the existence of a method for calculating nutritional needs. 84% of the surveyed specialist doctors use nutritional support for a ZNO patient in the ICU. Probe power is used by 54%, the remaining 46% do not use and do not know. Enteral siping nutrition is used by 51% and 49% do not use or do not know. 72% of specialist doctors use nutritional support when a patient is being treated in the Department. While parenteral nutrition use, 53% of doctors, 47% - do not know or use, enteral tube feeding is used 52%, 48% don't know or use. Similar results were obtained for enteral oral nutrition, which is known and used by 50% of doctors and the same number of 50% - do not use and do not know. Conclusion. The results of the survey showed that it is necessary to develop training models for students and cadets of specialized departments of Oncology, which will allow both full – time and distance learning (e-learning) to increase the knowledge of specialist doctors on nutritional support for cancer patients.
