Introduction. The effective use of the hospital bed capacity and the planning of inpatient care is an urgent public health problem requiring the adoption of sound management decisions. The characteristic of planned hospitalization in hospitals is an important condition for increasing the effectiveness of hospitals. Purpose: to give a modern characterization of planned hospitalization in the city multidisciplinary hospital. Materials and methods. A study of planned hospitalization in the city clinical hospital No. 1 of the city of Samara in 2016-2019 was conducted using the forms of federal statistical monitoring No. 30, No. 14, No. 14-MED, No. 62, as well as the database of the automated information system AIS “Hospital”. Results and discussions. Against the background of a decrease in the total number of hospitalizations from 2016 to 2019 by 4.5%, there has been an increase in hospitalizations of patients in a planned manner by 13.8%, while the largest share of planned hospitalizations falls on such profiles as surgical (30.8%), gynecological (20.4%), neurosurgical (19.8%) and traumatological (12.6%). In the structure of funding sources for planned hospitalizations, almost two-thirds are compulsory medical insurance, 26.4% - on the funds of citizens for paid services, 4.3% - on voluntary medical insurance. 3.5% for budget funds and 0.8% for contracts with organizations. The mortality rate of planned patients in a city hospital decreases from 0.34% in 2016 to 0.04% in 2019 against the background of a slight increase in mortality in general. The postoperative mortality of planned patients is also reduced from 0.23% in 2016 to 0.02% in 2019 against the background of an increase in postoperative mortality in the hospital as a whole. The average length of hospital stay of planned patients is reduced from 9.18 to 8.09%. Conclusions. The characteristic of planned hospitalization in the hospital shows the importance of effective planning for the occupancy of hospital beds, and accordingly, the use of bed capacity, as well as the need to optimize the interaction of outpatient and inpatient health care units.
