Cataracts are one of the leading causes of reversible blindness in the population and cause patients to depend on outsiders in various ways.However, geriatric syndromes in senile patients with nuclear cataracts have not been sufficiently studied. The purpose of the study - analysis of the main geriatric syndromes in elderly patients with nuclear cataracts. Material and methods: 220 elderly patients with nuclear cataracts, 200 patients 75-89 years old without cataracts, and 240 patients 75-89 years old with nuclear cataracts were examined in clinical conditions at the Tambov branch of MNTC "eye microsurgery". Comprehensive geriatric assessment was used in the examination of patients. Results of the study: it was Found that the highest frequency among the main clinical geriatric syndromes in senile patients with nuclear cataracts is hypomobility syndrome. Only 19.2 % of patients do not have geriatric syndromes. The number of clinical geriatric syndromes significantly increases in patients aged 75-89 years compared to patients aged 60-74 years with nuclear cataract. Conclusion: the development of nuclear cataracts in old age is accompanied by the formation of a significant number of clinical geriatric syndromes.
