Summary:
Actuality: Metabolic syndrome – a violation of carbohydrate metabolism, which leads to the development of various diseases and changes, mostly from the cardiovascular system. The components of the metabolic syndrome (obesity, left ventricular hypertrophy, arterial hypertension, and others) are a significant criterion for the development of premature aging. At the heart of the processes of premature aging are not only pathological processes in the form of oxidative stress, cytokine imbalance, but also the phenomenon of molecular immobilization, when the intensity of their own sanogenetic processes decreases. Based on the sano - and pathogenetic relationships and based on the practice orientation, we can distinguish eight variants of premature aging: cardiac, cerebral, osteodynapenic, menopausal, andropausal, mitochondrial, immune, and mixed.
Objective: To study the relationship between the phenotypes of premature aging and the components of the metabolic syndrome.
Materials and methods: The research base was Clinical Hospital No. 85. A total of 236 people were included in the study. These were patients aged 45 to 64 years with premature aging syndrome. The biological age of the patients included in the study was determined by the Voitenko method. A prospective study was conducted to study the somatic status of 136 patients aged 45 to 54 years (average age 48.1+1.6 years, men-66 people, women-70 people), 100 patients aged 55 to 64 years (average age 59.6+1.7 years, men – 48 people, women – 52 people), who turned to general practitioners for various reasons. The study was conducted for 2 years. The statistical methods of data processing were based on the method of statistical registers with dynamic randomization by the studied characteristics.
Results: Cardiac, mitochondrial, meno/andropausal, and mixed variants of premature aging are characterized by the presence of such components of the metabolic syndrome as arterial hypertension and increased heart rate. Increased body mass index in cardiac, mitochondrial and mixed variants of premature aging in both women and men, and in patients aged 55-64 years with menopausal/andropausal and mitochondrial variants of premature aging, the body mass index reached grade 1 obesity.
Conclusions: Cardiac, mitochondrial, meno/andropausal and mixed variants of premature aging are characterized by the presence of such components of the metabolic syndrome as arterial hypertension, increased heart rate and body mass index, which can be clinically significant for the diagnosis and preparation of programs for the prevention of premature aging.
Keywords metabolic syndrome, arterial hypertension, premature aging, old age.
