Introduction. The adverse impact of the school environment is considered an important factor in the deterioration of children's health. To give a comparative assessment of the impact of the educational process in general education and Waldorf schools on the health of children aged 7-10 years. Materials and methods. 113 children aged 7-10 years were examined, including 51 students of grades 1-4 of the Waldorf School (the main group) and 62 of their peers from a secondary school (the comparison group). Physical development, somatometric parameters, immunobiological resistance, the number of chronic diseases and functional disorders, indicators of the vegetal nervous, muscular, respiratory, and cardiovascular systems, the level of physical health and anxiety, mental performance were determined. The survey was conducted twice: at the beginning and end of the school year with an assessment of the dynamics of the studied indicators. Results. It was found that most of the parameters of the health status of children aged 7-10 years who study according to the Waldorf pedagogical system are significantly higher than those of their peers who study in accordance with the traditional educational program. This is manifested by a lower prevalence of chronic diseases and functional disorders, higher somatometric indicators and harmonious physical development, economical work of the cardiovascular system, positive dynamics of the integral indicator of physical health during the school year, a low level of anxiety and maintaining a sufficiently high mental capacity by the end of the school year. Conclusion. Many hygienic components of the educational process in the Waldorf School contribute to the preservation and promotion of children's health. As well as most of the parameters of the health status of children aged 7-10 years, studying according to the Waldorf pedagogical system, is significantly higher than that of their peers, engaged in accordance with the traditional educational program.
