Summary:
Currently a comprehensive assessment of situation concerning injuries among the population od Moscow is an important task to determine the next steps in healthcare reform. Objectives: to determine the impact of measures of Moscow health authorities in traumatology and orthopedics on the health status of Muscovites. Materials and methods: research used data on health status of Moscow population, including the official data of Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat). Object of research: population of Moscow who applied for medical care in traumatology and orthopedics category. To achieve the objectives authors used the official data of the Federal State Statistics Service, Moscow Healthcare Department, Moscow Forensic Medicine Bureau and Uniform Medical Information and Analytical System (EMIAS) for 2019. We also analyzed the official statistical data for 2019 presented in reporting forms No. 30 ‘Report of Medical Organizations’ and No. 12 ‘Information on Incidence in patients living in the service area of the medical organization’, as well as other information and methodological materials. Results. Authors used official statistical data to study the dynamics of injury rates among Muscovites in 2019. It was statistically proven that injuries, poisoning and some other consequences of external causes occupy one of the leading places in the structure of primary morbidity and are one of the main medical and social problems of our time. Meanwhile analysis of the main indicators of registered injuries indicates a high level of morbidity and mortality due to injuries, primarily among children and young people of working age, who, therefore, have a higher need for medical care. As shown by the structural analysis, the nature of the injuries sustained by various age categories also differs, which is associated with the lifestyle, general health and circumstances of the injury. Injury prevalence in the administrative districts of Moscow depends on factors such as population structure in the districts, availability of medical organizations with the necessary resources to provide assistance, as well as patient routing protocol and triage system depending on the severity of injuries and availability of free beds.
Keywords healthcare, injuries, medical care, patient routing, medical statistics.
