Summary:
Introduction. The problem of reducing the prevalence of non-communicable diseases is largely related to the health literacy of the population, which involves studying its level in various categories of the population using modern methods of assessment. The purpose of the study is to study the health literacy of the adult population of the Krasnoyarsk Territory on issues of a healthy lifestyle, prevention of diseases, maintenance of a healthy lifestyle, and attitude to the recommendations of the doctor. Material and research methods. The study was conducted in two stages (2016 and 2020) using the WHO methodology "European Tool for Assessing Health Indicators" to determine the health literacy (ICG) of the population. 768 residents of 15 cities and 29 rural areas of the Krasnoyarsk Territory aged 18 to 65 years were interviewed. The literacy rate (with the calculation of the corresponding index) was analyzed on the issues of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, preventing diseases and complying with doctor's recommendations, distributing respondents to groups with an excellent, sufficient, problematic and inadequate level of MSH. Results. It was established that over the period 2016-2020. Overall, the overall level of MSG increased, with an increase in the proportion of persons with an excellent and sufficient level (from 29.4 to 37.7%) and a decrease in the population with an inadequate level (from 21.4 to 13.5%). 48.8-49.2% of respondents had a problematic literacy rate, especially men, among whom 82.8% were with a problematic and inadequate level. Among age groups, only women aged 18-34 years (33.4-34.0 points) had a sufficient level of MSH. Persons with higher levels of education and income have a higher ICG index. The most accessible information to the population is the prevention of diseases, which is well understood by the population. At the same time, the evaluation of the information received at a sufficient level was regarding issues of a healthy lifestyle, and the possibility of its use - regarding the doctor's recommendations for treating diseases. The survey shows the level of public health literacy that needs to be improved to reduce the prevalence of non-communicable diseases.
Keywords health literacy, sociological assessment, population awareness, prevention.
