Summary:
Introduction. The development of care for children with mental and behavioural disorders is increasingly focused on the treatment of this contingent in a day-care setting. It is important not only to assess the formation of the flow of patients to these units of neuropsychiatric dispensaries, but also the use of specialists implementing medical and rehabilitation technologies. The purpose of the study was to establish the demand of specialists of various profiles in the day hospital of the regional children's neuropsychiatric dispensary. Material and research methods. A full sample was used from the information database of the dispensary for the three-year period of assistance to 2,698 children and adolescents on certain nosological forms of diseases. The involvement of specialists was considered: psychologist, psychotherapist, neurologist, speech therapist, geneticist, physiotherapist, specialist in social work. Results. The average duration of treatment of patients in a day hospital was 33.3 days. The amplitude of the variation in average treatment time was from 28.0 days for emotional and behavioral disorders to 45.6 days for behavioral syndromes associated with physiological disorders. 86.2% of the total amount of assistance is accounted for by the treating psychiatrist, and 13.8% - by other specialists. Of these, 54.3% of the assistance is carried out by a psychologist, 21.4% by a physiotherapist, 12.0% by a social work specialist, and the remaining specialists account for 2.3-3.9% of the assistance for each. At the same time, the psychologist is most often involved (430.4 per 100 patients) in the treatment of patients with behavioral syndrome and in mood disorders (342.1 per 100 patients). The physiotherapist is most in demand for disorders of psychological development, organic mental disorders and mental retardation (105.2-118.7 per 100 patients). A social work specialist was more often employed to help patients with schizophrenia and mood disorders (78.9-83.0 per 100 patients). The established levels of involvement of specialists in the day hospital of the neuropsychiatric dispensary indicate the volume of demand for certain types of technologies for the treatment and rehabilitation of children with mental disorders and behavior disorders.
