Summary:
Introduction: The problem of accessibility and quality of medical care in medical organizations that provide outpatient care in the context of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic is coming to the fore in most countries of the world. Unprecedented pressures on health systems can lead to disruptions in the delivery of health care to the population.
Materials and methods: The authors studied the impact of the pandemic on the provision of medical care by medical organizations providing outpatient care on the basis of a sociological study (1630 people).
Results and discussion: The article present data that show that in the context of the pandemic, medical care provided by medical organizations in outpatient settings has avoided catastrophic failures and remained at the same level, despite the unprecedented high burden on the health system in the situation of the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus. The majority of the population retained the opportunity to get an appointment with the district general practitioner within 1-2 days, and during the week when medical care was provided to almost all patients, the Russian health care system maintained a fairly high availability of narrow specialists in polyclinics, the waiting times for the admission of such specialists in the whole sample are satisfactory.
