Type 2 diabetes mellitus is an age-associated disease with a continuous annual increase in the number of patients in the world population and a high mortality rate. In addition, this pathology, in which both carbohydrate and lipid metabolism is disrupted, is a risk factor for the development of chronic diseases of the cardiovascular system, the mortality from which is in the first place in our country. In this regard, the development of safe regimens for hypoglycemic therapy aimed at compensating for carbohydrate metabolism and dyslipidemia is extremely important. Objective: To develop a treatment regimen for elderly patients suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus, aimed at compensating carbohydrate metabolism, improving fat metabolism, without the risk of hypoglycemic conditions.
