Annotation. Introduction. There are more than 13 million elderly people in the Russian Federation, when the number of geriatricians is only 1000. This creates a gap between the capabilities of the health care service to respond to the needs of the elderly population. Objective. To study the structure of syndromes causing difficulties in the management of elderly patients by non-specialist health care specialists (non-geriatricians). Materials and Methods. A survey was conducted in the social network «Vkontakte» and the messenger «Telegram» in an industry group to work with physicians on the management of elderly patients. Results. A total of 139 professionals were interviewed, 132 of whom were physicians. Cognitive impairment (78%), the problem of arterial hypertension and other CVDs (62.1%), polypharmacy (58, 5%) and polymorbidity (58.9%), constipation (36.7%), anemia (28.8%), urinary incontinence (15.1%), bedsores (12.9%), malnutrition (12.9%), dehydration (7.9%), orthostasis (5%), fecal incontinence (3.6%). Potential methods for their solution are suggested. Conclusions. Cognitive impairment, polymorbidity, and polypragmasy are the most difficult issues for the physician, especially when they go "in conjunction" with each other.
