Preserving and strengthening the health of the population is one of the main tasks of practical public health. The high prevalence of diseases of the digestive system attracts the attention of many authors, since certain organizational aspects require improvement. The aim of the study was to identify age and gender differences in patients, taking into account the place of residence and marital status. Material and methods. Analytical, analytical and calculation. To determine the age, gender composition, medical and social characteristics of patients and the reasons for visiting a gastroenterologist, a random sample was used to analyze 1080 cases of patients seeking medical help, among which women predominated. Results. The results of the study showed that men are more likely to seek medical help at the age of 18-29 (24.0%), women - 60-69 years old (40.0%), and taking into account the place of residence - villagers (57.3% against 42.7%), by gender, regardless of place of residence, women predominated among patients (rural - 66.1%, urban - 52.3%). If urban residents are more likely to apply at a younger age, regardless of gender, then for the villagers, the most typical is significantly frequent application at the age of 60-79 years. An analysis of the marital status of patients who applied to a gastroenterologist showed that more than half of the patients are in an official or civil marriage.
