The data of the Unified Medical Information and Analytical System were used. Results. COVID-19 was the cause of death in 34.4% of the cases. Pneumonia not associated with COVID-19 referred to 1.7% of the died. Cancer accounted for 15.3% of deaths, cardiovascular diseases did for 15.6%, surgical diseases did for 4.9%. Despite the fact that the mortality rate of patients with COVID-19 was 1.6%, the development of this disease increased the risk of death by 11.2 times. During the observation period, 6902 people received at least one component of the Gam-COVID-Vac (Sputnik V) vaccine. None of the vaccinated died during this period. Conclusions. COVID-19 makes a significant contribution to the overall mortality of the population, surpassing all other certain diseases.
