Primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) is a common ophthalmic disease that causes irreversible blindness and requires long-term use of ophthalmic hypotensive drops. However, the fixed combination of tafluprost and timolol remains insufficiently studied. Purpose of the study. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the fixed combination of tafluprost and timolol in elderly patients with POAG. Materials and methods. The effect of a fixed combination of tafluprost 15 mcg and timolol 5 mg 1 drop once a day for 12 months was studied in 92 patients aged 60-74 years with POAG (main group). In the control group, represented by 64 patients aged 60-74 years with POAG, treatment carried out with the monopreparation bimatoprost 0.03%, 2 drops per day for a year. After completion of the follow-up (after 12 months), a comparative evaluation of the effectiveness of the drugs used carried out in terms of visual acuity without correction, reduction of intraocular pressure, maximum corrected visual acuity and retinal light sensitivity.
