Summary:
Introduction. Over the past two decades, Russia has seen an annual decrease in the number of beds and hospitals, while the number of patients admitted to hospitals has increased, forcing researchers to propose new solutions to the problem. As for the number of beds in the Russian Federation, in 2009 there were 1,278,932 beds. In comparison with the year 2000 there has been a reduction of 18.7%. The number of beds per 10,000 people was 90.1 and decreased by 17.4%. Objective: to study the dynamics of the activities of medical organizations of the Russian Federation providing care in inpatient conditions of 24-hour stay for 2016-2020. Materials and methods of research: we studied the data of federal statistical observation form No. 30 "Information about a medical organization" (hereinafter - form No. 30) for 2016-2020 on the activities of medical organizations providing care in inpatient settings with 24-hour stay, the Russian Federation, the Central Federal District and the city of Moscow. Statistical processing was performed using Microsoft Excel 2016 spreadsheets and PSPP statistical data processing program. Results. In the Russian Federation (RF), the Central Federal District (CFD) and the city of Moscow there is a downward trend in the provision of beds for 24-hour stays over the period 2016-2020. As well as the rates of availability of 24-hour beds and bed occupancy per year, the rate of bed turnover is declining. The highest rate of decrease in the rate of bed turnover during the analysed period was in the Central Federal District (-10.3%). In the Russian Federation, the rate of hospitalisation in 24-hour hospitals decreased by 18.0% (from 20.6 per 100 population in 2016 to 16.9 in 2020). In the city of Moscow this indicator decreased slightly less (-13.2%). Conclusion. The main performance indicators of medical organizations providing care in inpatient settings around the clock tend to decrease both in Moscow and the Central Federal District, and in the Russian Federation as a whole.
Keywords medical organizations providing care under inpatient conditions, bed availability, number of bed days, bed turnover, average length of stay, hospitalization rate
