Summary:
Introduction. Falls syndrome is one of the most common deficiency conditions in elderly patients and is partly associated with clinical geriatric syndromes, but has not sufficiently studied in patients with glaucoma. Purpose of the study. Study the prevalence of falls syndrome and its association with clinical geriatric syndromes in patients with glaucoma. Materials and methods. The study of the above aspects of the falls syndrome conducted among the population of the Tambov region and in 282 patients aged 60-74 with glaucoma, who made up the main group, 121 patients without glaucoma (control group). The analysis of the frequency of falls syndrome and other deficiency conditions performed by means of a comprehensive geriatric assessment. Results. The syndrome of falls is characterized by frequency variability from 36.0±0.8 cases per 1000 population aged 50-59 years to 104.2±2.53 cases per 1000 population aged 80 years and older (p
