Summary:
Introduction. The present study is devoted to the problem of gerontological education (knowledge of biological, social and psychological changes at the onset of old age) of the younger generation, which is insufficiently inculcated in young people, which contributes to the absence of a civilizational principle in education, as well as the continuity of generations, which for many centuries has contributed not only to the transfer of experience and knowledge gained by previous generations, but also to the transfer of basic knowledge aspects of education. The increase in life expectancy and the gap between generations, as well as a significant difference in the perception and development of the achievements of modern scientific and technological progress continue to focus on the biological difference between youth and old age, which makes the elderly socially unprotected. The situation is also aggravated by the fact that the retirement period has been extended, which has made helpless people (elderly) who are unable to carry out work to the required extent, but at the same time unable to retire. The position of employers is also far from the position of the state, and they do not seek to hire employees who do not have high requirements and knowledge in the field of computer literacy, which is often the reason for searching for more labor-intensive and low-paid work.
The article reveals the norms of respect for the elderly in the framework of a pedagogical project.
The purpose of this study is to determine the optimal pedagogical tools necessary to build a model of gerontological education of young people adapted to modern realities.
Materials and methods. Within the framework of the study, a survey method and a questionnaire were used with ranking of the results of the study, which were analyzed and described.
The results of the study were applied in the construction of the toolkit model, which was based on the implementation of the project "Old Age", which was implemented within 3 years.
Discussions. The results of the study revealed that during the stated period, the average age group achieved the greatest success - 27%, while the younger and older groups revealed improvements in gerontology by only 24.6%, which allows us to conclude that they are less susceptible to behavioral correction without significant systematic impact.
Conclusions (conclusion). Respect for the elderly is an integrative personal education characterized by recognition of the value of the elderly, the merits and experience of the older generation, the presence of positive emotions and attitudes, as well as behavioral manifestations that are expressed in value interaction with the elderly based on knowledge about the socio-psychological characteristics of their age
Keywords gerontology, old age, the project "Old Age VS Youth", the younger generation, pedagogical experiment.
