Today hirudotherapy is one of the popular methods of medical rehabilitation. Formalized description of the nursing process in the leech therapy has helped to clearly identify the sequence of actions of nursing personnel during the course of treatment, which ultimately gives you the ability to expand the function of nurses and to remove the burden on a doctor. A survey of patients receiving a course of hirudotherapy was done. In particular up to 40% of patients do not digest recommendations for the care of wounds that remain after a session of hirudotherapy. According to the results of the survey developed a checklist for patients undergoing leech therapy, where available for the patient the form of formulated information about the preparation to the session of treatment, maintenance of places of setting leeches, and answers the most frequently asked questions.
