Summary:
Actuality. Despite significant progress in the study of Frailty, this topic is quite young and requires additional efforts in its study, this also applies to the study of blood.
Purpose: to study the features of blood parameters in diabetes mellitus (DM) in the elderly and senile age in combination with Frailty.
Materials and methods. As part of the work performed, 145 people were examined, of which 66 (45.5%) were men and 79 (54.5%) were women. Groups were formed according to age and gender criteria. In the first group of the studied – 54 patients with type 2 diabetes, in the second – 73 with Frailty and in the third with Frailty and type 2 diabetes mellitus – 18.
Results. Because of the study, it was found that in patients of all groups, all indicators of the general blood test, except for sedimentation rate of erythrocytes and the number of erythrocytes, are in the region of the lower limit of the norm. In the group of patients with Frailty in combination with type 2 DM, the largest number of megalocytes, irreversibly altered and degenerative forms of erythrocytes was observed.
Discussions. In Frailty, especially when combined with type 2 DM, stasis and cell sludge were manifested in age, however, thrombosis was detected to a lesser extent. When studying the surface of erythrocytes, it was revealed that the depth of the discocyte cavity was extremely uneven in the cells and distorted within the aisles of one cell.
Conclusion. Thus, as a result of the study, it was found that in patients of all groups, all indicators of the total blood count, except ESR and the number of red blood cells, are in the lower limit of the norm. In the group of patients with Frailty in combination with type 2 diabetes, the largest number of megalocytes, irreversibly altered and degenerative forms of erythrocytes were observed.
