Introduction. The aging of the population is a global, worldwide problem, and the elderly age is the one of the most important risk factors of atherosclerosis. Daily living activity is an important parameter of geriatric status. The effect of atherosclerosis on the activity of the elderly is not enough studied, but it is important for the optimizing of the geriatric strategy. Therefore, this study is important and practically significant. The aim of the study was evaluation of the effects of various forms of atherosclerosis on the daily living activity in elderly. Materials and methods. It was examined 99 atherosclerosis cases aged 65 and older, who were treated in the vascular surgery department of the Belgorod Regional Clinical Hospital of St. Joasaph in 2020-2021. The presence and form of atherosclerosis were determined by the results of a standard clinical examination and documented anamnestic data. Daily living activities were assessed by Barthel Index. During the study, patients were consistently divided into groups consisting of patients with and without the corresponding form of atherosclerosis. For each group, the average values of the Barthel index were calculated, including the indexes values for certain types of the activity.
