Introduction. Optimization of health care is accompanied by the widespread introduction of information systems in the activities of medical units. An important criterion for the effectiveness of the use of the electronic document management subsystem is the reduction in the cost of employees' working time. Purpose: to analyze the results of the timekeeping of the working time spent by doctors of various specialties when registering new cases of infectious diseases in electronic form. Methods. A comparative analysis of the direct costs of working time of doctors of various specialties was carried out when registering new cases of infectious diseases by performing chronometric measurements. The timing of the time spent by 62 doctors of various specialties (therapists, infectious disease specialists, pediatricians, phthisiatricians), randomized into two groups, was carried out: the first group consisted of 30 doctors registering new cases of infectious diseases manually, the second group - 32 doctors using electronic forms of documents of the regional medical information systems. A descriptive statistical analysis was performed. Differences between groups were assessed using the Man-Whitney test. Results.
