MALIGNANT NEOPLASMS IN THE KURSK REGION AND IN ADJACENT TERRITORIES

Summary:
Introduction. The article describes the indicators of malignant neoplasms in the Kursk region and in the following adjacent territories: Oryol, Belgorod, Lipetsk, Bryansk, Tambov and Voronezh regions in 2020-2021. Aim. Тo study malignant neoplasms in the Kursk region and in the adjacent territories in 2020-2021. Material and methods. For the study of malignant neoplasms in the Kursk region and in adjacent territories, the official statistics of the MNIOI named after M.I. Herzen - a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "NMITs Radiology" of the Ministry of Health of Russia. Results and discussion. In 2021, the most prosperous territories for detecting malignant neoplasms in stages I and II are Voronezh (65.0%), Belgorod (62.4%), Tambov (60.9%), Lipetsk (60.2%), Kursk ( 59.2%) regions. Bryansk (49.9%) and Oryol (52.4%) regions are classified as unfavorable territories. In Russia, in the Central Federal District and in the regions of the Chernozem Region, stage IV malignant neoplasms were most often detected when the tumor process was localized in the liver and intrahepatic bile ducts, pancreas, trachea, bronchi, and lungs. In 2021, among all regions of Russia, the Kursk region took the third ranking place in terms of the prevalence of malignant neoplasms (3488.0 per 100,000 population), the first place is the Republic of Mordovia (3606.8 per 100,000 population), the second place is the Kaluga region (3526. 2 per 100,000 population). The mortality rates from malignant neoplasms in the Bryansk (237.5), Kursk (236.8) and Oryol (217.8) regions per 100,000 population exceeded the Russian one. A low mortality rate from malignant neoplasms was detected in the Belgorod (164.4), Voronezh (176.7), Tambov (179.4), Lipetsk (190.2) regions per 100,000 population, where the mortality rate from malignant neoplasms is below the target under the national project “Healthcare”. Conclusion. The analysis showed an increase incidence of malignant neoplasms in the Russian Federation, in the Central Federal District and in most regions of the Chernozem Region, with an almost unchanged overall incidence rate in Russia as a whole and its increase in the Central Federal District. The identified differences in the prevalence of malignant neoplasms in the regions of the Chernozem Region are due to the state of the oncological service, the quality of diagnosis and treatment, the effectiveness of dispensary observation and patient survival.
