Summary:
Actuality. The state imposes strict requirements for the professional training of employees engaged in pharmaceutical activities in relation to veterinary drugs. The licensing requirement for veterinary pharmacies, individual entrepreneurs and veterinary clinics engaged in pharmaceutical activities is that their manager and employees have a higher or secondary pharmaceutical, or higher or secondary veterinary education (with established work experience for managers) and a specialist certificate / certificate of specialist accreditation ... In the Russian Federation, specialists are trained in strict accordance with the developed federal state educational standards, which are approved for each specialty. In connection with the requirements for employees engaged in pharmaceutical activities in veterinary pharmacies and clinics, the educational standards "Pharmacy" and "Veterinary Medicine" should provide for the appropriate level of training and competence so that graduates of both directions have a sufficient amount of knowledge and skills to work in the field of veterinary pharmacy. Purpose: to study modern approaches to veterinary and pharmaceutical education in the Russian Federation from the point of view of highlighting the peculiarities of the sphere of circulation of veterinary medicinal products and substantiate the need for the introduction of additional education programs for specialists engaged in pharmaceutical activities in veterinary medicine. Materials and methods: In the work, scientific general theoretical and empirical methods were used: content analysis, information and analytical review of the current Federal State Educational Standards in the areas of "Pharmacy" and "Veterinary Medicine"; situational-logical analysis, design and modeling in the development of educational programs. Results: Russian legislation in the field of veterinary medicinal products circulation imposes requirements on the level of education of specialists carrying out pharmaceutical activities in veterinary pharmacy organizations and veterinary clinics selling veterinary drugs: graduates who have completed educational training in the areas of "Pharmacy" or "Veterinary Medicine" are allowed to work in the listed organizations ... Due to the fact that the sphere of their future activities will be the circulation of medicines for veterinary use, a special approach should be provided for the training of such specialists, taking into account the specifics of pharmaceutical activities and a high level of responsibility in this area. Today, veterinary pharmacy as a field of science is just beginning to develop and be included in the educational programs of future veterinary and pharmaceutical specialists, however, the need for training a qualified employee for a veterinary pharmacy organization is already very high due to the increase in the number of pets, and, accordingly, with growth of pharmacies and clinics selling drugs for them. The most important competitive advantage of a pharmaceutical organization is the level of training and qualifications of its personnel, which is able to fully meet the requirements of the buyer. In the process of analyzing the Federal educational standards in the areas of training "Pharmacy" and "Veterinary Medicine", we identified a significant difference in the competencies mastered by students and the corresponding areas of their future activities, as a result of which none of the areas provides for the graduate to obtain the necessary amount of knowledge and skills for at the veterinary pharmacy. To solve this problem, the authors propose to introduce additional education programs for both specialties, developed taking into account the specifics of pharmaceutical activities in veterinary medicine.
