Summary:
Introduction. One definition of polypragmasy is the simultaneous prescription of 5 or more medicines. Polypragmasy has a high prevalence. Approximately 36.4% of patients over the age of 65 suffer from polypragmasy. A method of resolving polypragmasy and reducing its risks is deprescribing. Objective. The aim of the study is to examine the model of Russian doctors' work in the context of polypragmasy, readiness to use deprescribing, as well as to identify the main barriers to its implementation in order to improve approaches to informing doctors about deprescribing as an intervention. Materials and Methods. A survey was conducted on the Telegram messenger about the actions doctors take toward deprecating patients. Results. In analyzing the responses of 121 respondents, it was found that physicians have a positive attitude toward deprescribing, but do not use deprescribing methodology and prioritize the presence of indications, contraindications, or side effects. Conclusions. It is necessary to modernize deprescribing training programs in medical educational institutions at pre- and postgraduate stages, broadcast knowledge for patients in schools for patients and their relatives.
