Summary:
Introduction. One of the factors of life satisfaction is the appearance of a person, which depends on natural data, material well-being, mental state and many other components that are not always taken into account, which are reflected in the appearance of the personality. The development of cosmetology as a medical specialty has allowed many people to solve problems related to appearance. Purpose: to study modern medical and social aspects of patients' access to a cosmetology clinic. Materials and methods. The beauty and health clinic in Samara "New Life LLC", operating since 2007, has been identified as a scientific base. The Clinic conducted a sociological survey using the questionnaire method of 267 patients according to a specially developed "Questionnaire on the study of medical and social aspects of patients with aesthetic (cosmetological) problems", which includes, in addition to socio-demographic characteristics, 11 main open and closed questions. Sociological, statistical and analytical research methods were used. Results and discussion. The overwhelming majority of respondents belong to women (91.8%), men, respectively, only 8.1%. The average age of patients is 42.6±2.9 years (differences in men and women are not statistically significant). At the same time, more than half of all patients (56.2%) account for the "young" able-bodied age of 18-44 years. Aesthetic problems (42.7%), age-related skin changes (20.2%), inflammatory skin diseases (acne) (16.9%) can be identified among the main reasons for patients' complaints. Due to cosmetic problems, patients feel discomfort to one degree or another (in 88.4% of cases), use decorative cosmetics (61.0%), feel embarrassed in front of others (68.9%), worry (76.4%). The presence of cosmetic problems affects the social activity of patients (64.8%), relationships with close associates (44.6%), the choice of clothing and accessories (50.9%), career building (38.2%), relationships with a sexual partner (43.8%). Conclusions. The provision of cosmetology services is directly related to the quality of human life, the creation of a platform for social and individual psychological comfort. This is the uniqueness of such a specific medical industry as cosmetology. Its aesthetic orientation has a deep social meaning, serves to harmonize the individual and society as a whole, which requires further search for ways to improve the organization of medical care in the "cosmetology" profile.
Keywords cosmetology, appeal, aesthetic medicine, organization of medical care, cosmetological care.
