TOTAL INCIDENCE OF ORAL MUCOSAL MALIGNANCIES IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION IN 2013-2020

Summary:
According to the definition of the World Health Organization, dental health is one of the main indicators of public health and quality of life. World studies of the global burden of disease show that more than 3.5 billion people have poor dental health. Seven oral health conditions, including malignant diseases, are responsible for most dental health problems. Oral malignancies are the sixth to eighth most common cancer type worldwide. The prevalence of these diseases continues to increase against the background of aggressive marketing of tobacco, alcohol, unhealthy foods, which are the leading factors of development. Purpose of the study: to study the dynamics of the general incidence of oral cavity cancer in the Russian Federation for the period 2013-2020. Materials and methods of the study: the data of federal statistical observation forms № 12 and 7 were used in the work. Research methods: statistical, analytical. Statistical processing was performed using Microsoft Excel 2016 spreadsheets and PSPP statistical data processing program. Results. Oral mucosal malignant neoplasms (MNCs) in the structure of all MNCs by years from 2013 to 2020 is from 1.56% to 1.9%. Men and adults are more often affected by oral cavity cancers. Males accounted for 68.8% of all oral cancer cases during the period under analysis. The peak of oral cavity cancer cases is in the 60-64 years group. Conclusion. In the nearest decade the sickness rate dynamics of oral mucosa disease will tend to increase. As the result the urgency of early detection and prevention of malignant neoplasms of the oral mucous membrane will gain the increasing importance and as a consequence the readiness of dentists to apply new methods of diagnostics of potentially malignant diseases of the oral mucous membrane.
