Introduction. Problems with alcohol use are relevant worldwide. In Russia there are almost 1,2 million people with alcohol dependence, Up to 30% of all deaths in Russia are somehow related to alcohol. Prevention of alcohol abuse is closely related to the issues of identifying this fact, particularly relevant in the public sphere. This problem is solved by the examination procedure for the state of alcoholic intoxication. The purpose of the study: analysis of the state of the system of medical examination of persons for the state of alcohol intoxication and the results of its work. Materials and methods. The data of the federal statistical reporting (Ministry of Health of Russia), 2014-2022, comparative analysis is applied, statistical and analytical methods. Results and discussion. During the observation period, there is an increase in the number of medical organizations, Medical examination (27,5% and number of persons) sent for inspection (178,9%), 2022. They were 1,2 million people. Every third result (32,5%) confirmed the fact of alcohol intoxication, Among drivers of vehicles, every fifth result of the study was positive (21,4%). Conclusions. Recent years indicate a decrease in alcohol consumption in Russia: in 2022, alcohol consumption per capita decreased by almost 5% compared to 2019 year. This trend is largely the result of “consistent” policies, aimed at reducing the harmful consumption of alcohol", including by improving the system of medical examination for alcohol.
