Among all the subjects of the Russian Federation, Arkhangelsk region in 2023 ranks second in terms of morbidity and mortality due to malignant neoplasms. Purpose: to study the dynamics and structure of primary morbidity and mortality due to malignant neoplasms of the bronchi, trachea and lungs in the territory of the Russian Federation and Arkhangelsk region for the period 2013-2023. Materials and methods. The analysis of primary morbidity and mortality due to malignant neoplasms of the bronchi, trachea and lungs in the territory of the Russian Federation and Arkhangelsk region was carried out using data from the P.A. Herzen Moscow Research Institute of Oncology for the period from 2013 to 2023. To analyze the dynamics, intensive indicators of primary morbidity and mortality of the population of the Russian Federation and Arkhangelsk region were calculated. The values of the time series are described using a polynomial trend. Results and discussion: In the Russian Federation, malignant neoplasms of the trachea, bronchi and lungs occupy the second place in the structure of oncological morbidity. In the Russian Federation, the rate of decrease in the primary incidence of malignant neoplasms of the trachea, bronchi and lungs in the period from 2013 to 2023 amounted to 11,1%. In the Arkhangelsk region, there is an increase in the level of primary morbidity by 15,8%. In the Arkhangelsk region in 2013, the proportion of patients with a first-time diagnosis of malignant neoplasms of the trachea, bronchi, lungs at stages I and II totaled 16,6%, in 2022 – 21,9%. Malignant neoplasms of the trachea, bronchi and lungs are most often diagnosed at later stages. In the Russian Federation, the mortality rate due to malignant neoplasms of the trachea, bronchi and lungs decreased by 22,8%, in the Arkhangelsk region a more pronounced rate of decrease was 25,3%. Among the working–age population of the Russian Federation, the primary morbidity rate decreased by 35,7%, and mortality by 50,0%. Conclusion: The analysis showed a decrease in the primary incidence of malignant neoplasms of the trachea, bronchi, and lungs in the Russian Federation, with an increase in the Arkhangelsk region. Malignant neoplasms of the trachea, bronchi, and lungs at stages III and IV are diagnosed in the region in the highest proportion.
