Summary:
Introduction. Working in the medical field is a complex, time–consuming, responsible type of activity that requires both moral and physical endurance, attentiveness, and competence from both a young specialist and an experienced doctor. Medical workers (doctors and nurses) often have to spend most of their time at work, and even when at home, they have to be "on the phone" in case of an emergency at the workplace that requires the help of other specialists and their safety net. Such a stressful pace of life, of course, affects the health of the medical staff itself, diseases arise, including chronic ones, which leads to a decrease in the level of doctors' ability to work and the quality of their medical care for the population. A number of medical and social factors have a daily impact on the well-being of doctors in each region of the country and individual medical organizations in different ways. Aim – to analyze the medical and social aspects of the health status of medical workers in the Kamchatka Territory. Material and methods. The research material was the results of an anonymous survey of 614 respondents from Kamchatka Krai based on Google Forms, who at the time of the survey were working in medical organizations of the Krai. Theoretical and statistical research methods were used. Results and discussion. The study involved medical professionals aged 20 to 51 years and older, with the majority of respondents (26%) classified as 41-50 years old. In general, the majority of respondents (53.4%) have favorable health indicators, and 29.3% of doctors feel exceptionally well. Despite this, 68.1% of respondents have chronic diseases and only 31.1% of respondents are completely healthy, in their opinion. However, 74.9% of medical workers come into contact with occupational hazards in the workplace. Based on this knowledge, almost all the survey participants care about maintaining and strengthening their own health in one way or another. Conclusion. This scientific study proves the relevance of the chosen topic in order to identify the greatest number of factors affecting the physical condition of doctors and their emotional background. By reducing the impact of these "irritants", one can try to avoid the "emotional burnout" so common in the healthcare sector, the outflow of highly qualified and valuable personnel in the workplace, including in the Kamchatka Krai.
