Introduction. The organization of medical care in the "cosmetology" profile has recently become an independent process, having existed for a long time as part of dermatovenerology. Activation of the process of formation of cosmetology as a profile of medical care began in 2009, when regulatory documents on its organization began to be published and come into force. At the same time, problems remain, and in many ways they arise due to the fact that medical care in the "cosmetology" profile is provided in most cases in clinics of the private healthcare system. Purpose: to identify modern problems of the organization of medical care in the profile "cosmetology". Materials and methods. The study was carried out on the basis of cosmetology clinics of the Samara region. In the course of the study, a survey of experts on the organization of medical care in the profile "cosmetology" was conducted. The experts were chief physicians, heads of cosmetology clinics, cosmetologists with at least five years of experience in this field. The number of respondents was 48 people. Analytical, statistical and sociological research methods are used in the work. Results and discussion. Among the main problems of the organization of medical care in the "cosmetology" profile, an important place is occupied by the existence of an illegal market of cosmetology services (according to 41.7% of experts). Experts called the strong and weak side of the industry, respectively, the professionalism of cosmetologists (20.8% of responses) and at the same time, the lack of education among those who provide medical services (39.6% of responses). Such a paradoxical situation develops due to the fact that in cosmetology clinics with a medical license, doctors with diplomas of higher education, documents on completion of residency or internship in dermatovenerology and additional professional education in cosmetology work, and in offices without a medical license, the same services are provided by persons without medical education. Experts see prospects for further development of the industry in strengthening the methodological base, creating clinical recommendations and a Russian platform for the production of cosmetic products for the needs of the industry (47.9% of responses). Conclusions. Most cosmetology clinics do not participate in statistical reporting, so it is difficult for market participants to assess its real vector of development, prospects, threats and opportunities. The organizers of healthcare in cosmetology do not have reliable data on the number of complications, on the effectiveness and safety of methods common in aesthetic medicine. Among the existing management problems, in addition to weak control or its complete absence over the activities of unlicensed organizations and non-certified specialists, the lack of qualified personnel in the management of private cosmetology clinics, experts also highlight the lack of a unified professional community of specialists in the field of cosmetology and a single information resource. There is a need for further study of the problems of the development of the medical care service in the "cosmetology" profile and the search for new organizational technologies in this area.
