Introduction. The main purpose of children's camp is first of all to improve the health of the child with a high probability of preserving a favorable effect on health for a long period. Evaluating the effectiveness of children's recreation and recuperation organizations in our country has been conducted since the 50's of the 20th century. The methodological approaches of efficiency evaluation are regularly changing, however the key indicator is the dynamics of anthropometric and physiometric measurements made at the beginning and at the end of the health-improving shift. The aim of the pilot project "Evaluation of children recuperation efficiency" which ran for 5 years in the Russian Federation subjects is to implement and refine the methodological aspects of children recuperation efficiency evaluation, to spread the positive practices, to prompt and retrospective identification and correction of health risk factors in children. Materials and Methods. The materials were the output reports of the PS "Assessing the effectiveness and improving the health of children" (n = 40), the results of medical examinations of children (n = 1680579). Results. In the 5-year period the software tool "Assessment of efficiency and organization of child health improvement" was tested in 526 health-improving organizations, located in 16 regions of the Russian Federation, the database contained information about the dynamics of physical development of 168 579 children at the age of 6-17 years. On the whole during the entire period of the pilot project, not including the pandemic period (2020) when there were difficulties in providing organized recreation for children, the share of children with high recreation efficiency averaged 84.7%, with low efficiency 12.15% and with no recreation efficiency 4.25%. Discussion. At present the software tool allows to organize, control and evaluate the efficiency of children recreation and recuperation organizations in a single information field, as well as performs methodological and advisory functions. Conclusions. The indicators of children's recreation efficiency are information-important digitized indicators that characterize the overall effectiveness of the organization of recreation for children in the subject of the Russian Federation, municipalities and individual organizations. Taking into account the results of the analysis of the dynamics of indicators of physical development of children, at the present time it is important to refine the existing methodological aspects of assessing the effectiveness of improving the health of children.
